In response to the problem of myopia in China's children and adolescents, Wang Dengfeng, director of the Department of Sports Health and Art Education of the Ministry of Education, pointed out on the 15th that all provinces, districts and cities should strive to reduce the myopia rate of children and adolescents by 0.5 to 1 percentage point per year. The provinces with high incidence of myopia should strive to drop by 1 percentage point within one year, and other provinces should drop by more than 0.5 percentage points.
On the 15th, the State Council Information Office held a briefing on the policy of the State Council, and invited Yu Xuejun, deputy director of the National Health and Health Committee, Mao Qun'an, director of the Planning and Information Department of the National Health and Health Commission, Wang Dengfeng, director of the Department of Sports Health and Art Education of the Ministry of Education, and sports. The Director of the Sports Department of the General Administration of the People's Republic of China, Lang Wei, introduced the relevant situation of the Health China Action and answered questions from reporters.
At the meeting, a reporter asked: In recent years, the problem of myopia in China's children and adolescents is more prominent. The society is more concerned and concerned. The prevention and control of myopia is an important part of the health promotion action for primary and secondary schools in China. Last year, the Ministry of Education and other eight departments issued "Implementation Plan for the Prevention and Control of Myopia for Children and Adolescents", what important progress has been made since the issuance of the implementation plan, and how will we promote the prevention and control of myopia and the healthy growth of children and adolescents by strengthening school sports in the future?
Wang Dengfeng pointed out that children and adolescents' myopia not only directly affects vision, but also has a very significant impact on the physical health and healthy development of the entire child and adolescent.
After Wang Dengfeng said that the Ministry of Education and other eight departments of the "Integrated Prevention and Control Program for the Implementation of Myopia for Children and Adolescents" were issued, they made some efforts in the following three areas:
First, establish and improve the leadership mechanism, and specifically implement the responsibility of preventing and controlling myopia to various provinces, districts and cities. The Ministry of Education and the Health and Health Commission signed a letter of responsibility for prevention and control of children and adolescents' nearsightedness with the provincial people's government. In the responsibility book, all provinces, districts and municipalities strive to reduce the rate of myopia among children and adolescents by 0.5 to 1 percentage point per year. The provinces with high incidence of myopia should strive to drop by 1 percentage point within one year, and other provinces should drop by more than 0.5 percentage points. This is the most important work in the field of child health and myopia prevention and control in recent years. By December of this year, every province, district, and city must “pay the bills”. It depends on how the prevention and control of myopia for children and adolescents has been done in the past year. Whether the myopia rate actually drops by 0.5 to 1 percentage point.
Second, children's and adolescents' prevention and control of myopia mainly focuses on changing unhealthy lifestyles, strengthening physical exercise and further reducing the burden of schoolwork. This is also the core content of the letter of responsibility signed by the Ministry of Education and the National Health and Health Commission and the provincial people's governments. In this regard, we must further promote the reform of school physical education, and truly implement the school's ability to help children and adolescents learn health knowledge in physical education classes, learn basic motor skills, and at the same time be diligent and regular, that is, often participate in physical exercise and competition. It is hoped that through such specific measures, the majority of children and adolescents will be able to walk into the sun, move to the playground and change the unhealthy lifestyle.
Before the end of this year, the Ministry of Education will also issue a new era to strengthen the school sports and aesthetic education work. This opinion clearly states that the reform of school sports should focus on the three key words of “church”, “diligent training” and “common competition”. If these three keywords can be truly implemented, they can change the unhealthy lifestyle, enable the children and adolescents to master health knowledge and one or two sports skills, and can regularly participate in physical exercise and sports competitions. Preventing and controlling myopia among children and adolescents and improving their physical health is the most crucial link.
At the same time, it is necessary to create conditions for the visual protection of children and adolescents to be more effectively protected, including continuous improvement of the lighting of the classroom, adjustment of the height of desks and chairs at any time according to the height of the students, strengthening of eye exercises, and promotion of public health knowledge and popularization. Let children learn more basic knowledge and skills to protect their eyes and protect their health.
The third is to take a series of measures from the perspective of jointly promoting the work of the Ministry of Education and the eight departments, including setting up special funds for prevention and control of myopia, and setting up a publicity group for prevention and control of myopia to preach throughout the country. At the same time, the Health and Health Commission and relevant departments have taken a series of actions, including screening the myopia of children and adolescents every year, establishing archives, and tracking the changes in vision of each student. These efforts have achieved phased results so far. The responsibility letters of the provinces have been signed, and the propaganda group and expert committee have also been established, and have begun to preach throughout the country. The actions and plans listed in the responsibility books of various places are steadily advancing.
