Snap today announced the Spectacles 3, which now has a new look and feel, plus a dual HD camera that delivers depth of field for photos taken.
To make the most of these two shots, Snap has also built a new set of 3D effects that take advantage of the device's depth perception. You can shoot and record by clicking the button on the top of the glasses. The indicator light around the lens will light up during the run. As with the previous model, you can sync the shot to your phone, edit it on your phone, send it to your Snapchat friends or Share to other platforms. The spectacles 3 takes a photo resolution of 1642 x 1642 pixels and the video is 1216 x 1216 pixels.
According to Snap, Spectacles 3 allows you to record 70 videos or more than 200 photos on a single charge. You can charge it with its charging case, which takes 75 minutes to fully charge and the charging box can be charged via a USB-C cable. The device itself has 4GB of storage and can hold 100 segments of video or 1200 photos.
In appearance, the glasses are different from the previous version, made of lightweight steel frame, with black “Carbon” and “Mineral” between beige and gold.
Spectacles 3 will be available on the Spectacles website in November for $380 (about 2,680 yuan), compared to just over $150, the new price is more than doubled.
According to Snap executives, this version is mainly intended to attract a small number of “fashion-avant-garde” people. Middle school students and college students who are the core group of Snapchat may not be the target users of this glasses.
